As we have witnessed world events rapidly deteriorating in just the last few years, it has become exceedingly obvious to all that our nation and planet are very quickly heading toward a terrifying civilizational crisis the magnitude of which has not been experienced by anyone living today.

Though the outward symptoms of this coming crisis have taken the form of political, economic, social and cultural concerns, the underlying cause of the current crisis is primarily a spiritual one. Rather than reflecting such Dharmic spiritual concerns as truth, justice, beauty, meaning and compassion, our modern societies have instead predicated themselves upon the celebration of unbounded materialism, hedonism, greed, perversity, self-centeredness, cruelty, violence and the rejection of Dharma - or the Natural Way.

Despite the common headlong plunge into crisis that many have chosen to pursue, there are those among us who have courageously chosen to reject the present descent into mindless materialism foisted upon us by the controlled media, and to instead honor the ways of the ancient sages that have served us so well for millennia. We have consciously chosen to lead an authentic spiritual existence, full of satisfying meaning, healthy wellbeing, beauty, tranquility, non-violence and spiritual enlightenment - even in the face of the ravages of the Kali Yuga, the current Age of Conflict. If you are one of the many millions of brave people on our planet today who have been awakened to the importance of living a truly authentic and spiritual lifestyle, then the Midwest Vedic Initiative is meant for you.

The Midwest Vedic Initiative - A Beacon of Hope in the Kali Yuga

The International Sanatana Dharma Society, under the guidance of Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya, is in the beginning stages of establishing a large and innovative Vedic community near our world headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. This community has been envisioned by Sri Acharyaji to be a spiritual refuge for sincere spiritual seekers from throughout the world to either come visit, or to move near permanently.

Our growing Vedic community will be a place of positive and constructive personal growth, spiritual practice, cultural celebration, life-long learning and able religious guidance, and will be centered upon the worship of Bhagavan Sri Sri Radha-Krishna.

Our goal is to create a healthy, safe and well-functioning spiritual community that is firmly based upon the foundations of Vedic culture, Yoga spirituality and Sanatana Dharma. This community will not be a commune, a cooperative, or a welfare entitlement program. Rather, each person who chooses to live near our ashram and temple in Omaha and be a part of our community will be expected to be gainfully employed, have their own source of income, own or rent their own home, and to be thoroughly responsible for their own lives and family. We believe firmly in individual responsibility, coupled with a healthy sense of spiritual fellowship and community.

As the world continues its course toward spiritual degeneration, our growing Vedic community will provide a beacon of hope for those sincere souls who wish to band together to help create a society based upon Dharma.
